Mom, why didn't you send me to ballet school?

I discovered an awesome video via Swissmiss. Check it out~ It is breathtaking.

Guyzer + Bean

Today, we went to the spring One Of A Kind Show and checked out Toronto's best local artisans~ I already had several booths that I wanted to see and was super exited to finally see their work in person. I've been digging their awesome blogs for awhile now. I came out with two beautiful items: a beautiful hand-dyed infinity silk scarf by Scout and Catalogue, and a cute gold fortune cookie necklace by Biko.

Meanwhile, since we were downtown (which is rare) and also looking for a birthday gift, we made a pitstop at the TIFF lightbox. We ended up buying a PIPEROID kit for ourselves. These little guys are made from paper pipes and they are absolutely adorable and super fun to make.

Rawr. Meet our new friends, Guyzer and Bean~

By the way, I have been working on  a couple of new jewelry pieces this week, but I'm taking my time with posting them all together. I've been playing with different materials and staring off into space alot, so stay tuned with my Etsy shop. More to come next week~

Hopefully you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Good times with my Canon G10.

Reminiscing an old trip to Apache Trail, Arizona.

All pictures shot with my Canon G10.

Anyone visiting Arizona, I recommend doing the trip to the Apache Trail early morning before sunrise. The roads are dangerously narrow but the view is absolutely breathtaking.

Black and White

A random post for the day.

I came across several rolls of films that I haven't developed yet. Some of them probably date back 4-5 years~ In fact, some of my cameras still have unfinished film inside them, and I cannot remember for the life of me what is in it. I will only find out when I finally get them developed. I also dug out some old pictures that I took with my various manual cameras I adopted a long time ago. I have so many pictures that didn't turn out well, and only a few that I really really love.

I am by no means an expert photographer, but I do find myself in possession of random cameras. I love my Holga and my Olympus half frame cameras for dreamy vintage style pictures. I used to shoot most of my pictures with my trusty Canon G10 (which i loved but RIP) but I have moved over to my new Canon SX-40. I shoot most of my jewelry pictures with my boyfriend's Canon 50D with his various lens. I have yet to master using my Minolta that I salvaged ( in mint condition) from a flea market in Kingston for a few dollars and my Canon A-1 that was donated to me by my cousin.

I find that no matter how great SLR and digital camera pictures look, I still like the work put into taking pictures with manual cameras. I have yet to master it all, but I will be practicing more and more as the summer approaches.

The following pictures are compilations of pictures I took in Ottawa with my Canon A-1 in black and white film.

Brass Geometric Rings Now Available!

Due to a customer's request, I made my original sterling silver geo rings into brass/bronze rings. The pictures below show an adjustable band for the geometric diamond and orb ring, requested by my customer. I really like the way the color turned out especially the antique tarnishing that I played around with. Stay posted for when these are available in my shop~

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming this week...
The picture below are brass geometric pendants, but they will soon be available in sterling silver as well.

Hope everyone survives the rest of the week~~

Cooking up some new jewelry

I've been cleaning up my work area this weekend and I'm happy that I can now see the color of my desk beneath all my silver dust, stones, brass parts, etc.

However, I took a peek at these peoples homes on Design Sponge. Some of these places that are featured are actually in Toronto~Here are my faves and I WILL get my sawhorse desk and my faux deer head on my wall one day. One day.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck in a teeny tiny studio apartment, but I love it because it's where I let everything out and zone into my jewelry world. In the near future, I dream of either handmaking a jeweler's work bench, or buying a very expensive one from a store so that I don't hit my head on my benchpin every two seconds.

Je m'amuse avec mes toupies!

Hi all! I'm back from vacation and was MIA for another week for a business trip out west, and I am finally back to updating my blog and my shop.

First things first, I caved and went to Mjolk today. I paced back and forth between the table where my dream scissors layed so beautifully...The price was *yikes* but they felt so nice in my hands...Handmade in Japan. Now it's mine~

I picked up two awesome toupies as well that I cannot stop twirling on my floor. They are made of wood, also made in Japan and they are AWESOME!
I tried catching them in action and taking a picture at the same time. These will be my new office toys~
I also came across another awesome store in High Park called Articulations Inc. It doesn't look like they have a website but they sell everything from Moleskin notebooks, to plastic dinosaurs, and I scooped up a Hypotrochoid art set that I've been looking for to bring my old childhood memories. They are as cool as I remembered from back in my elementary school days~
Finally...I posted pics of some necklaces that I made before I was off on vacation, and didn't get to post them until now. You can find them in my shop as of now! I have lots of new jewelry coming up and I should be back on track starting now, so keep posted.

Meanwhile, I've revamped my packaging a little and I'm eagerly waiting for some goodies in the mail to finalize it all. So stay tuned!

Have a great weekend ;)
